Are You Ready?

The church's role is not to substitute for our personal relationships with Christ but rather to equip us for ministry in our daily lives.

About the Message

In the sermon, “Are You Ready?” Pastor Tim reminds us that we are called to be prepared to minister in Jesus’ name, which he emphasizes is the most powerful name in all of creation. He uses the story of Peter and John in Acts 3 and 4 to illustrate how they were ready when an opportunity arose to heal a man who was lame from birth. Pastor Tim stresses that the church’s role is not to substitute for our personal relationships with Christ but rather to equip us for ministry in our daily lives. He points out that the name of Jesus is often abused through profanity, misused by churches to justify sinful practices, and underused by believers due to ignorance of our divine commission and the power available to us. We are not the miracle workers; we are His representatives, commissioned to preach, pray, and perform miracles in His name. It is time for us to stop underusing the name of Jesus and start operating in the power we have been given.
